Believed to have been built in the 1980's during the cold war expansion for the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom aircraft.  These photos show the RAF Wattisham live missile protected building, the concrete and grass situated over the hollow tunnel gives cover and protection for any missile housed inside it. Phantoms from 56 Sqn and 74 Sqn would stop nearby to be armed with live ordnance during live practice sorties.
