MEMORIAL SITE : The Aviator

HISTORIC RECORD

The pub traded as The Dun Horse for over 200 years.  In 1992 it was renamed The Aviator a reference to the crash of a Royal Flying Corps aircraft into the steeple of the nearby parish church in March 1918.  After a short period of closure the pub reopened as The Merchant House in 2015. It closed for good in 2017 and is now a house.
