There are a few books that have been written covering the history of London City Airport, this is by far the most comprehensive. It covers the whole story, looking at not just the first new Airport in the UK since the end of the Second World War, but covering all aspects including the impact on the area and surrounding developments.

There are many interesting and informative anecdotes throughout the book, and it is well illustrated with many not seen before images. The author has clearly put a lot of thought and research into this book about London City, a small airport with a global success story.

Whether you have a genuine interest in London’s aviation or if you are a frequent traveller through any of the London airports, this book is very highly recommended and is a very welcome addition to any bookshelf.
